On Wednesday, Britain’s Jack Laugher and Chris Mears took gold in the men’s 3 metre springboard event, removed from power to China.

Chinese divers were expecting 8 gold medals at the Rio diving competition, but out of 8 they could do 6 at the London 2012 Olympics.

The venue’s pool remained a vibrant green even with assurances from Games organizers it would soon be back to its original blue colour after issues with the alkalinity of the water.

Further concern amongst athletes and spectators, by Wednesday the neighboring water polo pool had also adopted a green shade.
