Mark Carney to leave Bank of England in June 2019


Mark Caney, Governor of Bank Of England informed he will leave the position in 2019 June. He will be serving one year more than his committed serving period.

PM of the country, Theresa May stated that his decision to stay on the position for one more year will help to maintain stability in the economy as the nation is negotiating its exit from the EU.

Philip Hammond, Chancellor, said he welcomes governor’s decision to stay an extra year. Country will need his leadership in this situation where it is exiting EU. While, Daniel Hannan, Conservative MEP who is in favor of Brexit said Mr. Carney must leave the position.

If he wants to stay, it has to be on the terms that he will not tell Scotland whether to stay or not and neither to Britain on which way to vote.
