Information concerning the app first leaked in August, once the code for it was discovered duringa teardown of a version of the Google Maps app.Delhi Public Transport app offers direction and time table information for Delhi Metro and bus stations, find their timings, and set up your travel routes, even when offline, to help users get information about directions between bus stops and metro routes even when they are not connected to the net.

On the Google Play listing, it’s an experimental app from the Google Maps team, designed from the ground up to make it easier for New Delhi inhabitants to get around on public transit, and notes that features may change rapidly based on feedback from users.

The company has since taken multiple steps to improve rider safety, including independent background screening of all its drivers and drivers’ phone numbers from every one and sharing live GPS location with pre-selected emergency contacts.
